Already did the patch. Also set the compatibility mode to windows 8/7 and to run as admin, still won't open.

That is strange. At least, for me, the game is working as intended.
I can think of a few possible causes and solutions, but, unfortunately, I can not provide a more technical insight, as I am just a casual player.

1. The game is not updated. You can try opening it through the patcher.
2. There is some conflict with a security program. You should check it.
3. There could be some files missing in your game directory. You should download the game again.

There may be situations where the game is running, but it does not open, for example: nothing appears in your screen, but, when you see on the Task Manager, on Windows systems, it shows the program working as intended. It is highly likely this is case number 3.

Open opensetup.exe and check if the graphic card setting is okay first. If it is fine and you still can't open MindRO.exe, download vcredist_86x and install it then try opening MindRO.exe again.
